Medingen Cloister

There has been a cloister in Medingen, which was then still called Zellensen, since 1336. After the Reformation it was converted in the year 1559 under the reign of Duke Ernest  ("The Confessor") of Brunswick and Lüneburg to a women's convent.

The Three Kings Church

The Three Kings Church of the protestant community in the Old Town was erected here after the great fire of 1811. The inscription at the base of the golden altar cup indicates that the altar dates back to 1507 and that the church got its name prior to the Reformation.

History of Spa

An important milestone was the year 1975. In that year, the town achieved recognition by the state as an official spa. A year later, the name of the town was changed from Bevensen to Bad Bevensen.
